A cold front is coming this weekend, and it's bringing some snowfall with it.
The cold front is expected to make landfall late on Saturday night (15 July) into Sunday (16 July) and cause temperatures to drop across South Africa.
The SA Weather Service has confirmed that the cold front will bring snowfall in the mountainous areas of the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and Northern Cape.
Weather forecaster Wayne Venter predicts that the cold front will result in good amounts of rainfall in the western parts of Western Cape, spreading to the Eastern Cape and western parts of the Northern Cape on Sunday.
Venter says there is also a possibility of snowfall in the Drakensberg of KwaZulu-Natal.
He advises that the cold front will leave windy conditions in Gauteng on Sunday and will see chilly temperatures set in the province and central parts of SA from Monday.
