Xander Apps prepare little kids for big school (soon in all 11 SA languages!)

While travelling America with three of her children, Xander co-founder Sibella Knott-Craig realised that some of the apps available for children were not really age appropriate.

Upon returning to South Africa, she and her husband decided to develop an app in a language their children understood, which was Afrikaans.

Knott-Craig is a Chartered Accountant by profession and is now creating content for Xander Apps that is suitable for South African children.

While travelling, I spent a lot of my time giving attention to looking for high-quality educational material that I can share from my tablet with my children.

I just realised how very little was out there that was healthy content for children and educational, free from advertisement. There was absolutely nothing in local South African language.

From a huge reception we got from parents it was very clear there was a huge market and parents were very keen for this kind of content which is local and gave parents peace of mind.

Today Xander has developed over 60 apps in eight different languages which children can engage with, learn while having fun.

She says they are hoping to have their apps in all eleven South African languages. To know more about Xander Apps visit their website.
