Petrol price to go up by 72 cents next Wednesday (mainly due to increased taxes)

The price of petrol will go up by 72 cents per litre next Wednesday.

Diesel will cost 65.2 cents per litre more.

The wholesale price of illuminating paraffin will fall by 2.3 cents a litre, while the retail price of LPG will increase by 39 cents per kilogram.

The increase in fuel prices is mainly the result of an increase in the Fuel and Road Accident Fund Levies, as announced by former Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba on 21 February 2018.
