German police raid Porsche and Audi offices
426 days ago
German police have raided the offices of Porsche and Audi as part of a fraud probe against two top Porsche executives and a former employee of the luxury carmaker.
The raid is in connection with the diesel emissions cheating scandal.
In 2015 Volkswagen admitted it used illegal software to manipulate emissions tests on diesel vehicles in the United States, sparking the biggest business crisis in its history.
Motoring journalist and car consultant Ciro De Siena of Cars.co.za says this is not the first raid on the Volkswagen group.
I suspect the German police forces and intelligence services received intelligence that Porsche had some information that would contribute to the ongoing investigation inside Germany and so their offices were raided.Ciro De Siena, Car Consultant at Cars.co.za
It is not the first raid on the Volkswagen group. I think their own offices and Audi offices were raided lat last year.Ciro De Siena, Car Consultant at Cars.co.za
It is tricky for them because this is Germany's key export.Ciro De Siena, Car Consultant at Cars.co.za
