The 947 Breakfast Club on Friday made Amukelani Malabi’s dream of meeting with Ed Sheeran come true. Amukelani met with the British singer-songwriter on Sunday, 23 March at Soccer City stadium on his “Divide’ Tour “concert.
Amukelani took part in the 947 Breakfast Club’s competition to meet and greet Ed Sheeran. The radio station was given one opportunity with the superstar and decided to give away to a fan.
The competition ran for one week and entries were open to all the Ed Sheeran super fans. Every day the team shared a clue on air and the 947 Breakfast Club social media pages, competitors had to decipher the clues and crack the code on the 947 website.
The first clue was a castle, the second one was the lyrics from one of Ed Sheeran’s songs and the third one was a billboard in Benoni and Bryanston. Competitors had to figure out what the name of the song represented by the castle and find out which song the lyrics were extracted from. Amukelani cracked the codes and won the competition.

I was nervous to meet him but as soon as I walked into his room he looked up, greeted and smiled at me. He was so kind, it really warmed my heart to see how natural and easy-going he was.Amukelani Malabi
