Single women now the biggest property buyers in SA - report

According to property and vehicle research group, Lightstone, single women are the biggest group of property buyers in South Africa.

Almost 72 000 single women bought residential properties in 2018.

Clement Manyathela on the Xolani Gwala Show, discusses the findings with the research group's manager Esteani Marx.

Women are acquiring their share of the property market.

What we see is that the data clearly shows that female buyers have steadily been increasing since 2016 noticeably overtaking men and married couple markets.

The research also shows that the single property buyers are buying within the R250 000 and below margin and are also dominating the market in Gauteng.

Marx says the report focused on single women, single men, and married couples and it also surveyed four major provinces which are Gauteng, Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, and Eastern Cape.
