Lockdown boredom draining your kids? Four simple ways to keep them entertained
129 days ago
Whether you agree or not, the reality is that you can't stock up on toys and games for your kids during the 21-day lockdown because they're not considered essential items.
Help is at hand though from parenting expert Nikki Bush, in the second instalment of her four-part series on ensuring you emerge a hero after the shutdown!
And it's quite possible, she assures, to keep the youngsters entertained using the items you already probably have at hand in your home.
It's just using the basics - whether it's a ball of wool, a dice, whether it's some Sunlight soap, we can actually create some magic using very, very little.Nikki Bush, Parenting expert
In this edition Bush looks at marble painting (crafts), making special Rice Crispie bars (cooking), creating a colour symphony using milk (science) and a card activity (games).
The latter, Bush says, can be enjoyed by families without any kids as well.
You can download all these fun activities from her website www.toytalk.co.za, which focuses on learning through play.
